A wonderful opportunity exists for a candidate to work as a Project Manager in the Secunda area; The candidate must be willing and able to travel locally and into Africa and spend extensive time on site The candidate must also have the following

Qualifications:

  • Possess a recognized Project Management qualification.
  • Advantageous if registered or PMP certified.
  • Advantageous to have a recognized General Management qualification, such as UNISA MDP, AEP.
  • Minimum 10 years Project Management experience in Process Control or IT or Power & Utilities related industry.
  • Has successfully Project/Program Managed at least one Turn Key, Multi-Disciplinary, Multi-Vendor, Multi-Year project, from conceptual design through to final delivery.
  • Has managed an installation sub-contactor as part of the Multi-Vendor make up.
  • Has managed Multi-Disciplinary teams that are situated in various locations, some as remote as overseas

Duties:

  • Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and Controlling of Project activities – Cost/Quality/Schedule.
  • Interfacing with Clients/Leading of Project Meetings.
  • Processing and expediting orders
  • Manage project information according to Procedures (with Project Administrator Assistance).
  • Liaising with various internal departments and external customers.
  • Interface with customers and act as an escalation path for project issues.
  • Maintain and build customer and sub-contractor relationships.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of projects and services at site and portfolio level.
  • Constantly monitor and report the status of the project, with a focus on assessing risk to the business.
  • Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure good governance and ethical conduct.
  • Lead and coach core team members to drive delivery, achieve customer satisfaction and results.
  • Ensures very tight management of change and initiates Early Warnings or requests Compensation Events on time and effectively, resulting in customers expectations being properly managed and being fairly compensated.
  • Maintains or ensures that project records are maintained such that there is an easy audit trail documentation revision control is effective and immediate.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and controlling or ensures that this is affected, of all workmanship and deliverables including control and instrumentation installations to ensure compliance with customer standards.
