A well-known, national company requires the services of a Senior Systems Engineer.
A senior professional with more than 5 years experience in a systems engineering environment is required. An electrical or electronic Diploma or an Engineering Degree is essential. Experience in working in a customer facing environment and good managing skills, dealing with sub-contractors, may clinch this position.
Qualifications:
- Electrical / Electronic / IT S4 Diploma
- Engineering Degree
- Equivalent technical qualification
Skills:
- Communication literacy skills
- Fluent in English good communication and presentation skills
- Computer literacy skills
- Computer Hardware knowledge would be an advantage, Auto Cad knowledge, MSOffice
- People skills
- Needs to take charge of a team
- Managing and dealing with sub-contractors / third parties
- Significant customer focus
Requirements:

- Scada, PLC and DCS
- Transportation
- Must be in position of a drivers license and a vehicle
Duties:
To lead and or implement customized complex and/or standard engineering solutions, typically undertaking one aspect of a large project, to successful completion and within budgeted time and cost constraints. Must be able to coach an assistant technically.
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, and budget) are in place prior to commencing work
- Produces part(s) of total functional design specifications under supervision
- Produces technical design specifications
- Executes work assignment to appropriate standards and quality systems (Implementation, Test & Documentation)
- Coaches and supports assigned engineer(s) to ensure they are able to meet the requirements of their work assignments
- Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan
- Effectively communicates with customers to fully define and agree project requirements
- Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group
- Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
- Reports progress and technical problems to lead engineer
- Ability to implement complex control strategies
- Ability to design and implement sequential control applications
- Ability to fault find and engineer solution’s to control application problems.
